Press Release: MV COMMERCIAL CUSTOMISES AND DELIVERS SPECIALIST CRANE TRUCK TO NDC SERVICES IN SIX WEEKS
NDC Services has dramatically increased its urban crane capabilities with a new FORS Gold-compliant crane truck featuring NATO stabilising legs, customised and delivered by MV Commercial in just six weeks.

A new 32-tonne Volvo Trucks FH 460 fitted with a Hiab cranes X-HIPRO crane is helping Surrey-based operator NDC Services expand into increasingly specialist lifting and transport operations.
The new crane rigid is capable of lifting payloads of up to 18 tonnes close to the vehicle and almost six tonnes at its full 15-metre reach, providing exceptional flexibility across a wide range of lifting applications.
Equipped with a NATO stabilising system, the vehicle benefits from secure 360-degree slew operation, while the additional forward-facing hydraulic legs maximise lifting reach over the cab. This makes the truck ideally suited to operating on restricted urban and city-centre sites where manoeuvrability and safe lifting capability are critical.
The 8x2 rear lift and steer vehicle will support NDC Services across a varied workload that includes transporting generators, air-conditioning units and boilers, alongside specialist projects within the events and cabin-construction sectors.
Its lightweight yet robust body provides a transport payload of up to six tonnes, with that capacity doubling when operating with a trailer, delivering even greater operational flexibility.
Built for Specialist Urban Lifting Operations
Nick Carter, Managing Director and Owner of NDC Services, explained how the latest addition to the fleet is supporting the company’s continued growth.
“Our new truck gives us the flexibility to grow our business. The combination of being able to lift heavy loads and the extra reach we get from the NATO legs enables us to tender for more specialist work in urban areas.
“Being able to safely lift loads over the cab is a major advantage, as it can remove the need for manoeuvring in tight spaces.”
Specialist Crane Truck Engineering by MV Commercial
As an official Hiab cranes installer, MV Commercial completed every stage of the build and customisation process at its Airdrie manufacturing facility.
The build team also carried out the full livery installation and fitted a range of specialist additions including safety cameras, spotlights and beacons to ensure the Euro 6 vehicle achieved FORS Gold compliance.
NDC Services praised MV Commercial’s ability to deliver specialist vehicles quickly and efficiently.
“Delivery times from other suppliers can be anything up to six months, so we were delighted when MV Commercial could deliver in just six weeks,” Carter added.
“We’ve relied on them for more than a decade for our fleet because they always have the right specification chassis in stock and can quickly tailor units to meet our exact operational requirements.”
The latest addition expands the NDC Services fleet to 14 mixed-use commercial vehicles, all supplied by MV Commercial.
