Specialist operator Energy Haulage has powered up its fleet with a new 32-tonne Volvo FH 460 beavertail crane truck – dramatically extending the company’s lifting capabilities.

Specialist operator Energy Haulage has strengthened its fleet capabilities with the addition of a new 32-tonne Volvo Trucks FH 460 beavertail crane truck, significantly expanding the company’s lifting and transport capabilities.
The new vehicle, designed, built and supplied by MV Commercial, is fitted with a Cormach cranes 60000 E6 crane and will support a wide range of specialist operations including general haulage, generator transport and the delivery of specialist equipment to outdoor events and construction sites.
Iain Cooksley, Senior Manager at Energy Haulage, explained why the company returned to MV Commercial for its latest specialist vehicle investment.
“We selected MV Commercial as our supplier because the last truck we received from them has performed exceptionally well. When we needed to upgrade our capabilities to carry extra weight and operate a longer-reach crane, they were our first port of call.”
Built for Specialist Heavy Lifting Operations
The new crane rigid has been carefully engineered to meet the operational requirements of Energy Haulage’s specialist drivers and customers.
Offering a maximum payload of 11.5 tonnes alongside the ability to lift 2.6 tonnes at a reach of 15.6 metres, the bespoke build significantly increases the company’s operational flexibility and has already helped secure new business opportunities.
Cooksley added:
“We believe our new truck is unlike anything else currently available in the country. It is a major commercial differentiator for our business and, best of all, the lead time for receiving it was the quickest I have ever experienced for a new truck build.”
Designed Around Driver Comfort
As a family-run business with a strong focus on driver welfare, Energy Haulage ensured the vehicle was specified with driver comfort in mind.
The high-specification cab features a sleeper cabin complete with air-conditioning, 12v power supply and onboard cooking facilities, helping support operators working long hours across demanding transport and lifting operations.
