PR: MV COMMERCIAL’S QUICK TURNAROUND SECURES NEW BUSINESS WITH ROCKBREAKERS UK

MV Commercial has supplied Bo’ness-based Rockbreakers UK with a new MAN Truck & Bus TGM 18.290 flatbed truck, successfully delivering the specialist vehicle within just six weeks of receiving the order.

At a time when many suppliers were quoting lead times stretching well into the following year, MV Commercial was able to rapidly source, engineer and complete the bespoke build to meet the customer’s operational requirements.

The vehicle features a bespoke 26ft flatbed body fabricated in-house by the MV Commercial engineering team, including a secure one-metre-high alloy storage box running the full width of the vehicle beneath the bulkhead.

The storage system is enclosed using lightweight alloy roller shutters on both sides, creating a highly practical and unique specification for this style of specialist commercial vehicle.

Built for Demolition and Quarry Operations

Rockbreakers UK will use the new specialist commercial vehicle to transport hydraulic breakers alongside demolition and forestry attachments to construction, mining and quarrying sites throughout England and Scotland.

Jason Easton, Managing Director at Rockbreakers UK, explained:

High-Specification Safety and Storage Features

The 18-tonne 4x2 rigid has also been specified with a drop-down style Kelsa HiBar fitted with LED beacons and spot lamps, alongside a full fall arrest system to maximise operator safety.

A rear-mounted plastic toolbox provides additional secure storage capacity for tools and equipment required during specialist site operations.

Following the success of the build and delivery process, Rockbreakers UK was sufficiently impressed to place an additional order for a 3.5-tonne Mercedes-Benz Trucks Sprinter fitted with bespoke dropside bodywork.

Both vehicles have been finished in the company’s striking black livery with bold yellow and white detailing, completed in-house by MV Commercial’s fabrication and livery teams.
