Fielden Factors has strengthened its fleet with the delivery of six new DAF Trucks supplied by MV Commercial, including a bespoke front-mounted HIAB crane vehicle designed specifically for the company’s operational requirements.

The order forms part of the Lancashire-based business’ ongoing fleet renewal and expansion programme and includes three DAF LF 290 18-tonne 4x2 brick grab trucks fitted with HIAB X-HIDUO 118 B-2 cranes, alongside three DAF CF 320 26-tonne 6x2 rear steer brick grabs equipped with HIAB 158 B-2 cranes.

All six vehicles were carefully specified to support demanding building material deliveries and feature Wisa deck floors, rope hooks, fall arrest systems and rotating beacons.

The larger DAF CF 320 units also benefit from rear advertising boards, additional cab storage and work lights, while two of the vehicles were specially engineered by MV Commercial with shorter wheelbases and manual gearboxes to improve driver control and safety on rough terrain.

Built for Building Materials and Specialist Deliveries

Fielden Factors will use the new fleet to transport timber, building materials and landscaping products from its depots in Rossendale, Todmorden and Wigan to customers across the North West of England.

Tom Whitehead, Managing Director at Fielden Factors, explained:

“These modern and well-equipped vehicles are ideal for transporting building materials to our customers.

“The front-mounted crane on the DAF CF 320 is an excellent adaptation from MV Commercial that gives us a different option for moving the diverse range of materials we now offer.”

The new additions join five existing vehicles within the company’s growing fleet and feature a distinctive updated livery.

“We’ve invested in the brick grabs to expand our services,” Whitehead added. “Adding 26-tonne vehicles to the fleet allows us to operate with a higher payload capacity than some of our previous units and improves the overall cost-efficiency of our operations.”

“With lower running costs and reduced CO2 emissions, we are also well prepared for the introduction of the Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone. Everyone needs to do their part.”

Supporting Fleet Compliance and Efficiency

As an Accredited Dealership for the Manchester Clean Air Zone, MV Commercial was able to support Fielden Factors in maximising available grant funding through the scheme.

MV Commercial Technical Sales Engineer Andy Davis has worked closely with the company since first supplying a demonstration vehicle in 2021.

“Since then we have continued working together to ensure the fleet remains at the forefront of the market, incorporating features such as FORS Gold kits for accurate vehicle tracking, remote camera access, as well as additional safety and convenience features including extra lighting, strobes and cone storage,” Davis explained.

Specialist Vehicle Engineering by MV Commercial

Asked why Fielden Factors chose MV Commercial, Whitehead said:

“They were quick to meet all our vehicle specification requirements. Because MV carries out all work in-house, we only needed Andy as our single point of contact, which made sourcing the trucks an easy process.”

From bespoke crane trucks and tipper grabs through to tailored engineering and commercial vehicle finance, MV Commercial continues to support businesses across construction, builders’ merchants and specialist transport sectors.

With growing demand for efficient, compliant and high-capacity fleet solutions, businesses across the UK continue to invest in specialist commercial vehicles designed to maximise payload, productivity and fleet uptime.
