The New DAF XF 480 Mid Lift Tractor Unit
The new DAF XF 6x2 mid lift FTG range is designed and built with careful attention to efficiency and driver comfort, making this an ideal truck for both driver and fleet manager.
Built to be lighter than ever, DAF claims that when combined with ‘optimised drivelines, new high-efficiency rear axles, enhanced electronics and aerodynamic improvements’ you can expect an increased fuel efficiency of up to 7% for long-haul trips.
But the benefits of these new units are not just to the bottom line, driver satisfaction is better than ever before thanks to the Xtra Comfort' pocket sprung mattress, ‘Comfort Air’ air suspended driver seat, Automatic Temperature Control and air conditioning, and enough storage space for all of the road’s necessities.
Powering these units is the Engine MX-13, a multi torque 6-cylinder 12.9 litres diesel engine, producing 483 hp at 1600 rpm with a maximum torque 2500 Nm at 900-1125 rpm. For increased efficeiny and eco awareness, these units have a speed control setting with Eco fuel focus on best fuel consumption. The most fuel-efficient setting, which is automatically selected, can temporarily be switched off by pushing the Eco off button to increase the performance of the vehicle whilst still taking fuel efficiency into account.
Safety features for new DAF XF 6x2 FTG include Lane Departure Warning System, Electronic Vehicle Stability Control system (VSC), Forward Collision Warning, (FCW) and Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS).
