Hydraulic Service (Crane) Engineers - 3 Positions - Livingston | Haydock | St. Albans

We are currently have three openings for experienced Hydraulic Service Engineers with at least 5 years’ worth of experience of maintaining and repairing mounted loader cranes or similar products to join our Crane Servicing Teams based respectively at Livingston, Haydock and St Albans.

MV Commercial provides commercial vehicle sales and leasing across the United Kingdom, with a rental fleet of over 800 vehicles and a crane fleet of over 150. Our crane fleet consists of predominantly Cormach and Palfinger Cranes, as well as PM, Fassi and Hiab.

The Role:

Reporting to our Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of our national rental fleet of over 150 lorry mounted crane vehicles.

Specialist crane servicing and maintenance training will be provided to suitably qualified hydraulic engineers.

Essential:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be technically qualified to ALLMI standards with at least 5 years’ experience
  • Have a strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Be experienced with working with crane related software
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be able to work with and manage, small focused project teams across the UK
  • Have a clean driving licence

Desirable:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be commercially aware with ability to manage and work to budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes
  • Have previous experience working at one of the crane manufacturers
  • Be able to speak Italian

FULL TIME HGV MECHANICS ROLE

Location: Flamsted, Luton
Hours: Minimum of 45 Hours per Week

MV Commercial, based at Flamstead Nr Luton have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at our newest depot. Specialising in truck rental, sales and leasing we are looking to recruit a skilled HGV mechanic/technician to join our workshop team looking after our extensive fleet of commercial vehicles.

The ideal candidate needs to be a highly driven and motivated individual with an eye for detail and a self starter. A flexible approach and a can do attitude are a pre requisite for this role.

The following skills are what we are looking for:

Essentials

  • To have served a recognised apprenticeship in a heavy vehicle environment (indentured certificate, contract of training or equivalent must be available)
  • Qualified to minimum of City and Guilds 380 part 2 Craft certificate or equivalent
  • Have a clean drivers licence and hold a HGV class 1 licence or modern equivalent
  • Be a self-starter and work on their own initiative with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment (TEXA, Mancats, Davie, Jaltest, Delphi, Tech 2, Easy or similar) and continue with accurate corrective measures
  • Able to work at the roadside with access to an appropriately equipped and stocked service van to repair at the roadside fully or carry out safe temporary repairs to allow our customers to continue their journeys with the minimum of delay
  • In-depth knowledge of modern commercial vehicle electrical and CAN systems
  • In-depth knowledge of modern commercial vehicle fuel and emissions systems
  • In-depth knowledge of modern commercial vehicle air brake and air suspension systems

Desirable

  • City and Guilds 390 Full Tech certificate or equivalent
  • Basic computer use, experience of dealer management systems (Keridge, Kalamazoo, InspHire ) and simple Windows applications
  • Fabrication and welding experience

The ideal candidate will have served an apprenticeship or similar course of training with a road haulage contractor workshop or main dealer workshop. They will have gained a level of experience commensurate with the period of time they have spent at their trade. They will be able to fabricate and weld and repair items where possible rather than renew as is the current trend and practise.

This is a full time position working a minimum of 45 hours per week with overtime as and when required.

Supplier Manager/Co-ordinator

Location: Livingston

The Role:

Reporting to Project Development Manager the primary accountabilities will include:

  • Liaising with Sales Team to understand build specification
  • Allocation of Build Contracts to Key Suppliers / Communicate detailed bodywork specifications

MV Commercial currently has an opportunity for an experienced Yard Manager to join our team at our Livingston depot.

We are seeking a highly experienced individual with supervisory/managerial experience as this role involves the daily supervision of a team of Drivers and Valeters.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of a busy yard and ensuring all vehicles are prepared to the highest standard.

You must also possess previous experience in checking vehicles in and out and identifying faults, damage or irregularities with the vehicles. You will also be required to control a small stock of valeting materials.

You must have previous experience in the vehicle rental industry and have the ability to work in a very fast paced environment. Good communication skills and drive are a must as we will expect you be play an important part in our team in order to maximise all opportunities available to the business.
