Press Release: MV Commercial Acquire ex-T.O.M. Site in Airdrie
MV Commercial, the UK's leading original build crane truck provider, has just announced that it has acquired a new 3.36 hectare site in Airdrie.
MV Commercial, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of specialist commercial vehicles, has acquired a multi-million-pound “super site” in Airdrie which will become the new central hub for the company’s expanding range of commercial vehicle services.
The new eight-acre facility, previously operated by T.O.M. Vehicle Rental, significantly strengthens MV Commercial’s nationwide capabilities across vehicle sales, hire, leasing, commercial vehicle finance, maintenance, engineering and vehicle preparation.
The site includes more than 90,000 sq. ft. of internal workspace featuring multiple workshops, five HGV inspection pits, a dedicated paint and blast facility with eight booths, onsite ATF test lanes, a Tacho bay and full MOT testing facilities.
In addition, the facility offers more than 270,000 sq. ft. of external vehicle storage space, supporting MV Commercial’s expanding fleet of Ready to Go trucks available for immediate hire, lease and rent-to-buy solutions.
A Major Investment in UK Commercial Vehicle Infrastructure
The new Airdrie operation will complement MV Commercial’s existing depots in Livingston, Haydock and Luton, while becoming home to the majority of the company’s 150-strong workforce.
The expansion is also expected to create up to 50 additional jobs, including several apprenticeship opportunities, further reinforcing MV Commercial’s long-term investment in the UK commercial vehicle sector.
Tom O’Rourke, CEO of MV Commercial, said:
“This marks a new chapter for the business and represents our largest property investment to date. The Airdrie site has been purpose-designed for efficiency when it comes to handling vehicle sales, leasing and maintenance support, giving us the ideal platform for future growth.”
Steven Cairns, Group Managing Director of MV Commercial, added:
“As part of our strategy to deliver a complete range of services under one roof, this facility will maximise operational efficiency, provide cost-effective fleet solutions for customers and further strengthen MV Commercial’s specialist vehicle capabilities.”
Supporting Fleet Growth Across the UK
The new facility strengthens MV Commercial’s ability to support customers with a comprehensive range of services including asset finance solutions, fleet maintenance, specialist vehicle engineering and Ready to Go truck availability.
From crane artics and plant trucks through to specialist transport solutions and fleet support services, MV Commercial continues to invest heavily in infrastructure designed to improve customer uptime and operational efficiency.
The Airdrie super site represents another major step in the company’s continued growth across the UK commercial vehicle, construction transport and specialist haulage sectors.
