It was time for Dave to show off his skills with our new build Volvo FLE340. We asked him to move a skip in the yard and position it behind the workshop but knew it was a tight squeeze. Fitted with a Palfinger PK23080 the weight wasn't going to be an issue but did he manage to miss the cab window with the corner of the skip?

This 2006 R580 V8 is a real head turner. As you can see from the pictures and video the vehicle is in immaculate condition and ready for the road. Our beautiful big MAN TGA 6X4 XXL Double Drive has just finished it's contract and is now ready for sale. We now have new photographs of the vehicle with fully extended crane which can be seen on the vehicle page and have also made a video for you to view this amazing piece of engineering. The PK72002 Palfinger crane is fitted with 6 extensions giving it plenty of reach whether handling containers, moving heavy machinery, recovering vehicles or performing assembly work. Currently painted in a metallic blue/ purple this crane truck can be painted in your own livery and will be sold with a 3 month retail warranty, MOT and 12 month crane test.

Based on a Scania R580 8x4 tractor unit this crane truck has just been built by us and as you can see in the video it's an awesome piece of kit. This is a heavy duty 85T crane truck built for the most demanding of jobs. Particularly suited to applications where precision control, outreach and heavy loading is required making the most difficult of lifting jobs look easy.

The vacancies advertised are for our Service Centre based in Livingston, West Lothian. Where we maintain, refurbish and build both our sales and rental vehicles. Our facility is home to a 50 foot paint oven, modern inspection pits and heavy lifting equipment to accomodate any type or make of commercial vehicle. At our Livingston facility we provide commercial vehicle repair, painting and maintenance including fixed cost commercial vehicle servicing and maintenance contracts. Our experienced mechanics also provide MOT preparation and presentation. Providing a one stop solution for our customers regardless of work required. We have the facility to carry out most work from general maintenance to managing major accident damage. Our hgv mechanics, body specialists and painters provide a wealth of experience covering all major commercial vehicle manufacturer's. We have invested in the correct equipment to handle the most demanding of jobs at our Livingston workshop and paint facility allowing our staff to provide an invaluable service to our business and customers.

MV Commercial has struck a £4m deal with TLS Vehicle Rental to acquire 326 of its trucks and customers, doubling its rental fleet and securing stock for the sales division.
MV Commercial, based in Livingston, West Lothian, has doubled its rental fleet following a £4m deal to take 326 assets and 120 customers from TLS Vehicle Rental. It lifts the MV Commercial rental portfolio to 600 assets, and increases turnover by approximately £2.5m a year to £14m. Steven Cairns, operations director, says the deal will have a threefold effect on the business. “The deal strengthens the hire business, it acts as a stock generator to sell in the future and is a mechanism for fleet management on the existing hire business,” he says.
“The contracts automatically transfer over to MV Commercial, they are all long-term agreements, which is what we do. We don’t do spot hire, unless it is to an existing long-term customer.” The rolling stock is 7.5- and 18-tonne chassis with box and curtainsider bodies, consisting of DAF, Iveco and MAN vehicles, all around two years old. “It is all fresh kit, very sought after in today’s used marketplace,” he says.
Timing is also important, adds Cairns, and the deal comes after 18 months in which the business has had to reshape and refocus. “We have positioned ourselves in a way that, if the right opportunity came up, we’d be ready to go for it. TLS approached us, on the back of the deal we did five years ago ” he says.
